There is some debate to the dependability of digital cameras. While they are main-stream now, they do have their setbacks. When attempting to capture orbs digital cameras can be ones worst enemy. Due to the low pixilation of digitals in low light situations they are very sensitive to dust floating in the air which in turn looks like an orb.
To test this yourself go out at night and kick up some dirt and snap a few pictures. It’s best to use film when trying to catch orbs.

On the other hand digital cameras are somewhat sensitive to inferred light. Take a picture of your remote control while you are pushing a button (the volume button). You will see the light emitting from the remote, while to the naked eye it’s invisible. This could be handy and cheap when doing an investigation. Hopefully the result would be catching something forming when taking the picture. It’s best to do it with the flash off.
